Saemus Heaney

My friend Rochelle and I went to hear the Irish poet Laureate, Seeamus Heaney. I was milling around outside the Y as she was fortuitously running behind because Seamus himself walked by me. He was standing on the ramp speaking to some old Irish friends and I blurted "You're my favorite English language poet!! --I had my cell phone out and my hair was messy. He looked down at me smiling, put his hand on my shoulder and gently pushed me away ...

That night I learned a new english word "braird", a Scottish word meaning the beginning of a new growth on a plant. that Seamus..he knows all these great old Englsih/Celtic/Saxon words..
